Woodhead Publishing Limited, 2013 3 Methods for estimating construction and demolition (C&D) waste C. 25 Abstract: This chapter contains information about the main issues in the estimation of construction waste (CW), for the purpose of promoting waste recovery within the framework of sustainable construction. Several studies and quantisation tables estimating construction and demolition (C&D) waste, both regionally and on a smaller scale and in different types of buildings, are given. The difficulties and importance of obtaining a greater knowledge of CW from the initial conception of the project are discussed.
In Spain, for example, the two documents which constitute the estimate are differentiated according to a National Decree (Spanish Government – Ministry of the Presidency, 2008).
