He was so charmed that he gave her a personal tour and called her later to ask her for suggestions about whom to appoint to the committee, insisting that she would be the first one appointed.

Laura Schlesinger, who denounced the American Library Association and librarians as pornographers and child molesters, to Jim Hightower, who praised librarians for being agitators, educators, and civilizers fighting the forces of ignorance and arrogance.
